UPCOMING VOLUNTEERING PROJECTS

FLYERING

Sunday Jan. 10th 5:00-6:00pm

Sunday Jan. 17th 5:00-6:00pm

Coordinator: Kelly Lo (kellylo0318@gmail.com)

Flyering is a fun and easy way to earn service points! Come help us post those neon flyers around campus and get to know the officers in an informal setting! Each flyering event is half a service point.

FRIENDS OF CATS

Coordinator: Alicia Hitch (ahitch@ucsd.edu) Saturday Jan. 30th 10am-12pm

Cat Socializing: Visiting with, grooming and playing with adoptable cats to ensure their socialization and to help new arrivals overcome relinquishment anxiety or depression. This helps keep kitties active, used to being handled, and aware that they are loved. If you are interested please email Ali Hitch to reserve a spot on the attendee list. Spots are limited so sign up early. We will be leaving Sun God lawn at 9:10am. Ali needs drivers and although the location is a drive, you will be reimbursed gas money.

BEACH CLEAN UP

Coordinator: Alicia Hitch (ahitch@ucsd.edu) Saturday, Feb. 6th, 10am-12pm

Come out and help PASS keep La Jolla Shores clean and beautiful! Rides leave from the Sun God Statue at 9:50am, gloves and trash bags will be provided. If you have a car and wouldn’t mind driving a few members, please let Ali know, you will be reimbursed for gas! Hope to see you all there!

FEED THE HOMELESS

Coordinator: Lillian Ng (ljng@ucsd.edu) Sunday, Feb 7th, 4pm-7pm

Help feed the homeless and less fortunate people at St. Vincent de Paul Church! This will be a great way to meet and talk to totally different group of people while getting to know other PASS members! Email Lillian at ljng@ucsd.edu if you would like to attend this event. Let her know if you are able to drive as gas will be reimbursed.

The Preuss School, located on the University of California San Diego (UCSD) campus in La Jolla, California, is a charter middle and high school dedicated to providing a rigorous college prep education for motivated low-income students who will become the first in their families to graduate from college. Preuss has classes from 6th grade to 12th grade and the classes meet from 9am to 4pm M-F and 9-11am on Saturdays. Volunteer tutors usually come in for an hour and a half, twice a week (Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday).
To become a volunteer tutor email Lisa Sugimori at lsugimor@gmail.com for the volunteer application and she will set up your orientation. Volunteers need to provide a proof of TB test result that is no more than 60 days old. If you have it, bring a copy of the results to the orientation. TB tests can be obtained at UCSD student health. Additionally, you will need to provide a copy of a government issued photo identification (driver’s license, passport, military identification, US or other government identification). (Student identification cards do no satisfy this requirement.)

*To join a project, you must email the event’s coordinator with a request to be added to the list of attendees, or sign up with the coordinator at a general body meeting. If you have them, please don’t forget to wear your PASS shirts to projects and socials!

Sincerely,

Jenny Li
