Here are the upcoming events for The Pre-Medical Association of Students for
Service…
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
New Member Orientation: Thursday, October 8th, 7:00pm at
Price Center Ballroom
At the New Member Orientation, we will describe the benefits and
requirements of being an active PASS member. We will also
present in details on our community service projects and social events.
1st General Body Meeting: Wednesday, October 14th,
7:00pm-8:00pm, TBD
"What is Emergency Medicine and
How Can I learn More without Becoming a Patient?" For our first GBM we
have Dr. Gary Vilke from the UCSD Medical Center coming to talk about Emergency
Medicine and the EM Research Associate Program. You can pay dues and Officers
will be there to answer any questions. Also, you will be able to sign up for
projects.
Food and Drinks are provided!
2nd General Body Meeting:

"What to know for being
a Pre-Med at UCSD"
For our second GBM, We have
Jamie Nye from Career Services coming in to talk about the application process
for getting into medical school including how to start preparing early on.
You can pay dues and Officers will be there to answer any questions. Also, you
will be able to sign up for projects.
Food and Drinks are provided!

week, only paid members are allowed to attend events. The payment link is

to pay for dues and had someone other than yourself pay using a credit card (a
parent perhaps?) then please email Secretary Jenny to check that dues went
under your name and not that of the payee. Email Jenny at mjli@ucsd.edu with your name and the name of
the individual who paid for you.
UPCOMING VOLUNTEERING PROJECTS
Fall Festival on the
Green--Tabling
Coordinator: Ronald Chang (rcchang@ucsd.edu) Friday, October 9th,
12:00pm-1:00pm
Participate in the Fall Festival
on the Green (FFOG) by helping the PASS table, and spread
the word about our upcoming events!
M.S. Bike Tour
Coordinator: Ronald Chang (rcchang@ucsd.edu) Sunday, October 11th,
8:00am-1:00pm
Join PASS at the Qualcomm rest stop during day 2 of
the MS bike tour, a 2 day bike ride/fundraiser held by the National Multiple
Sclerosis Society. Over 2,400 bikers are expected to stop at the rest stop
after the long ride up the hill, so this will be a very exciting day!
If you are interested in volunteering with us, please register individually on
the event website. To do this go to www.biketofinishMS.com, and on the left hand menu click on
“volunteer information” then click “volunteer registration." Choose the
"Day 2 - La Jolla/Torrey Pines - Qualcomm Rest Stop" and enter your
information...Don't forget to enter PASS in the box
where it asks if you are part of a group.
Flyering

Flyering is wholesome and fun. Come help PASS flyer and meet the officers in
an informal setting! Each flyering event is half a service point.

Pre-Health Fair!
La Jolla Shores Beach Cleanup
Coordinator: Alicia Hitch (ahitch@ucsd.edu)
Saturday, November 7th, 10:00am-12:00pm
Come out and help PASS keep La Jolla Shores clean and beautiful! Rides leave
from the Sun God Statue at 10 AM, gloves and trash bags will be provided. If
you have a car and wouldn't mind driving a few members, please let Ali know,
you will be reimbursed for gas! Hope to see you all there!
To join a project, you must
email the event’s coordinator with a request to be added to the list of
attendees, or sign up with the coordinator at a general body meeting.
If you have them, please don’t
forget to wear your PASS shirts to projects and socials!
