acquired. To be considered an active member of PASS we ask that you
complete at least six service project points (~12 hours of service), and
attend at least two social events per academic year. If you meet the requirements of official membership by
the end of spring quarter, you will receive a certificate stating how many hours
of service you have completed as proof of your participation
in community service and you will be able to apply for an officer position. The certificates will be given out at the PASS annual banquet.

SOCIALS
STUDY CRAM!!!
Coordinator:
Isadore Tarantino (izzy@ucsdpass.org)
Saturday,
March 14th, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Finals
are just a few days from
this date
and I am giving everyone the opportunity to earn social points for STUDYING!!
That’s right, you read it correctly, social points for studying! Come on down
to UCSD campus and get your studying on before those darn Finals. Enjoy a
great morning of cramming in those last few hours of reading inside the
Biomedical library at UCSD before the big tests. The great thing about
this social is that there will be other PASS members there that I bet are even
in those same horrible/dreadful classes that you are taking. This means
that is not only a social but a free group study session if needed. Feel
free to come and study for an hour, grab a bite to eat and head on back to some
more terrific studying!
PROJECTS
PREUSS TUTORING
Coordinator:
Lisa Sugimori (lsugimor@gmail.com)
Saturday, March 14th and 28th, 9:00 am - 11:00 am
The Preuss
School, a nationally recognized charter middle and high school located right
here at UCSD, is looking for tutors. It's a great and easy way to give back,
meet some wonderful and accomplished students and take a break from studying.
We have classes
from 6th grade to 12th grade. Preuss is located on the east side of
campus, next to Scripps Hospital. You can use the East Parking Shuttle, which
will drop you off across the street from Preuss. Weekday tutoring is possible as well- contact Lisa Sugimori for more
information
NOTE: Before any tutoring you MUST go to
an orientation with Eva Mejia, the volunteer coordinator at Preuss
School. All orientations are at the BEGINNING of
each quarter- not in the middle or end of the quarter. There are NO orientations in the middle of
the quarter.
ADMIT DAY TABLING
Coordinator: Christine Feng (christine.feng@gmail.com)
Saturday, April 4th,
10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Admit Day is a day filled with many prospective freshmen
visiting UCSD to learn about our academic and event opportunities. PASS will be
tabling at Town Square in front of the Student Services Center (formerly Myers
Circle). We will inform students and parents about our organization and
its benefits. Come help answer questions and get to know potential new members!
:)
For tabling, each hour will count as half a point. Two hours is equivalent to
one service point.
To
join a project you must email the event’s coordinator with a request to be
added to list of attendees, or sign up with the coordinator at a general body
meeting.
If you have them, please don’t
forget to wear your PASS shirt to projects and socials!
All drivers that volunteer to help drive will be
reimbursed.
If you
have any questions, please send an email to pass@ucsd.edu Please do not
send emails to this address
Sincerely,
Ronald Chang
